Llanvapley
Map link for Llanvapley
Directions: There are two routes tried by Casuals with varying degrees of success!
The Abergavenny route - Junction 26 M4 - A4042 to Abergavenny. Once in town, follow the B4233 (old Monmouth road) and Llanvapley village appears about 6miles down that windy, narrow, high verged road (the entrance to the ground is at the crest of the hill on your right (you can see the pitch and pavilion).
[Casual word of caution: This sounds easy - but the one way system in Abergavenny, plus lack of signs usually has a number of casualties along the way.....]
The second route (the one we always leave the ground by) is Junction 24 M4 - A449 - exit at the Raglan junction (meets the A40). At the Raglan roundabout (past the castle on your right) - take the exit to the right, 3rd exit (if you have played Clytha Arms - this road leads to Clytha - to test you have the right road, you will pass a garden/tent centre on your left after about 1 mile). Once past Clytha Arms approx 0.5 -1 mile further on there is a right turn to Llanarth - take this turning. Continue through Llanarth for approx 3 miles until you get to a T-junction (B4233) - turn LEFT. Llanvapley is approx 2 miles, the ground on your left (at the crest of the hill).
[Casuals word of caution: There are b@gger all sign posts apart from when entering Llanvapley itself along the B4233. Take any turn/road apart from those specified and you have to guess the way - I have seen many of the hamlets within a 10 mile radius of Llanvapley - most of which do not exist on any map!!]
